Two very different tools answer the same search. One is a generative model that invents new frames: the person in the photograph turns their head, blinks, moves their hair. It runs on somebody else’s servers, often costs money, and can quietly redraw a face into someone else’s. The other animates the frame itself — camera, layers, light — without inventing anything.
SLOVO is the second kind. It does not alter the face, the pose, the clothing, the colours or the composition; your photograph stays yours and stays recognisable from the first frame to the last. What moves is the camera and the layers: zoom, parallax, depth, grain, light. If you need the subject to literally come alive, you want a generative service. If you need a photograph to stop being still and start breathing with the track, you are in the right place.
An ordinary animated photo is a zoom across a flat image, and the eye spots the trick immediately. Here the subject can be separated from the background so the scene moves behind them — the background drifting slightly faster, the subject slightly slower, the way a real camera move looks. The frame gains depth even though there was only ever one exposure, and the separation is computed in your browser, so the photo is never sent anywhere.
How strongly the image reacts is a setting, and it changes the result completely. For a ballad, take almost everything out: a slow push in, gentle parallax, motion you notice only after a few seconds. That is what makes a still photograph look expensive instead of gimmicky. For phonk or hip-hop, do the opposite — flashes on the kick, glitch on the drop, VHS artefacts. One photograph, two settings, two completely different videos.
Sharp, high resolution, one clear subject, and room around the edges — the camera pushes in, so anything sitting against the frame edge will leave it. A portrait where the subject separates cleanly from the background gives the strongest depth effect. A small re-compressed screenshot gives the weakest: motion only draws attention to the softness.
