Five families

GRID is typography and layout — coordinates, a frame, a huge track number, a barcode tag, a modular grid whose cells light up with the spectrum. AIR is the social layer — comments, hearts, a listener counter, a ticker, a toast, a streaming equalizer. PHYSICS is motion with mass — springs, bouncing balls, a vortex of particles. MAP reads the structure of the song — a strip of the whole track, a countdown to the drop, a section label. CONTOUR draws on the edge of the subject — a wave along the silhouette, sparks off it, bars growing from it, pulses spreading out.

Why overlays rather than scenes

A scene replaces your picture; an overlay keeps it. When the photograph or the footage is good, the job of the visual is to prove the video is alive and to add information — where we are in the track, what is coming — without covering what matters. Overlays are also how a video gets a personality: the same track with a HUD reads as technical, with hearts reads as a live moment, with physics reads as playful.

MAP: the song as a shape

TRACK STRIP shows the whole song as a bar — quiet parts, builds, drops — and where you are in it. TO THE DROP counts down to the next drop, which is a small thing that keeps people watching. SECTION labels the current part. Together they turn a track into something that can be read, not just heard.

FAQ

Can I stack several overlays? Yes. They are layers with their own opacity and reaction; combine as many as the frame can hold. Do the chat messages and hearts come from a real stream? No — they are generated to the rhythm of the track, as a visual. Nothing is connected to any platform. Does CONTOUR need a special photo? It needs a subject that separates from the background; depth separation runs in your browser and works best on portraits with a clean edge.
